I totally understand the need for the economic system to pump out an endless supply of deeply indebted and socially compliant units of human resource to feed the capitalist machine, but I’m concerned that this headline is a bit much.
It begs a simple question: Useless to whom?
Useless to whom, indeed. Who are these arbiters of our personal value in the grand social experiment? Where do they live? Give us their names and addresses, for they are the ones we should kill first.
The faceless overlords are getting a little sloppy with the propaganda. They should know better than to allude to themselves.
That’s how revolutions get started.
Also, the fact that two of the three factors they base this on are earnings and projected growth. Because those are definitely the arbiters of usefulness.
I think there’s definitely a problem with how we define “usefulness” of majors…. but on the other hand OMG A “THESE MAJORS SUCK” LIST THAT DOESN’T INCLUDE MY MAJOR!
:p
Working on the computer is sooooo tiring…
